Question by sand: Does olive oil need to be washed off after massaging the baby?

I noticed that extra virgin olive oil is very good for baby massages. But do I need to wash it off after the massage? Can I just use it as a sort of “lotion” after the baby’s bath? My husband said that oil blocks the pores and that’s how acnes come out….is that true?

babys dont need anything on their skin. a babys skin will make itself soft and if you apply anything to it it will stop doing its job and you will cause baby to have dry skin if done a lot. a baby has such small poors it wont clog them. If you only do it once in a while then leaving it is ok but often, I would bathe him.

Question by Robin W: Can you recommend a good massage lotion (not an oil)?

Used to use Playtex Baby Magic Creamy Baby Oil but I can’t find it now. I don’t want to use oil, and most lotions don’t have enough slip. The lotions marketed as “massage lotion” are 10.00 a bottle. I need something I can afford.

there’s the massage lotion and massage oil, i like giving my boyfriend back massages and hand/feet massages so what’s better for what? thanks

lotion is gonna be a cream, oil is gonna literally be an oil that you could also heat up in the microwave to make it warm and relaxing.

the oil is probably better, just messier.
